Dance and Volks Wagons, but NO Dancing on Volks Wagons

The other day, my mom and I got the girls some Halloween costumes. (You can never start too early, you know.) And I got the girls leotards to go under them. Naturally, we had to try everything on. However, since the costumes aren't for play, they went in the closet and the leotards stayed on. The girls had a great time dancing! And they were so cute!

I was also talking to my brother the other day and discovered that only a couple people know that Shane got a new car!!! He's so excited and loves it! A couple months ago, he was looking at one but it was completely out of our price range. This one he got for $1000 less than blue book! (Which is nearly $15,000 less than that other car!) So I think we did a good job. He has needed a much newer and more reliable car for sometime now. And since my Tahoe is paid off, we felt we could get another vehicle. So here's Shane's new car. It's a 2001 (I think) Volks Wagon Golf GTI. (YES, it's a turbo! and he loves it!) He mentioned just yesterday that he can dart in and out of traffic quite nicely with it. I told him he's supposed to drive with traffic, not dart in and out of it! Oh well. I'm so glad he likes it! He deserves it after having to drive his old cars around for years now.
Now see, to me, this is the shot that would sell the car.
And this. However, this is the shot that sold it to Shane!

A Cold Heart

I posted a new section of a story I'm working on. It's off to the side. So make sure to check it out and let me know what you think! I love the romance in this one! (But I'm sure I think that about all my stories!)
Also, I've just put a sneak peak of another book on my website under odds 'n' ends (I think.) Check it out! http://www.rachelrager.com Of course, if anyone was REALLY wanting to read an entire story, you'd just have to give me your email address. But of course, then you would have to give me some feedback about it!

A Very Long Week!

I'm sorry to have to be the one to bring this to your attention, but I seriously am the luckiest woman alive. Why? you may ask. Go ahead. Ask. Well, I'll tell you. I have the best family in the world!!! And such cute girls!!! (They're asleep and I'm looking at their pictures. Of course they're cute!)
It has been a while since I posted last and that's because I have been on the brink of death, AGAIN! A little too dramatic? Okay, we'll try again. Saturday I got real sick again and by Monday, after spending all day at doctors' offices and several hundreds of dollars, I learned I had a near abscess on my right tonsil. If I'd waited another day, I would have had to have it either drained or removed. And given the fact that I was supposed to go out of town with Shane on Tuesday, an operation really didn't fit into the schedule. Fortunately, with the help of Medrol and Augmentin, the swelling went down and I didn't have to go under the knife - this week. I'm feeling much better, however, the girls and I didn't get to go to SLC with Shane. We were all pretty bummed about that. Perhaps another time. However, in my down time, I did manage to take a couple pictures, so here they are.
The girls love this game. Lylli pulls them through the living room on their blankets. Unfortunately, she's too big to be pulled around. Still, she has fun!
Isn't she so cute!
Lylli in all her superior strength! Grrr.
I think Layla and Seryn are a bit unmatched to be a good team. What do you think?
Seryn, after the fun was over.

Today, my mom offered to break up the monotony of our boring week at home instead of out of town, which was a nice change for us all!! (Thanks, Mom!) She invited the girls over after school for a scrapbooking day. We all put together a page and had a good time. Then we went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and came home and watched a movie. Of course, it was late when they went to bed and Layla was in tears over missing her dad. But after a quick phone call, lots of kisses and hugs, she decided it really was an okay day (especially if Sunday hurries!)
Choosing a color of paper. It's a very intense process apparently.
Isn't this a great set up? The girls have their own space, so there's no hitting, fighting over room, etc. It was wonderful!
Oh, so studious. She actually wrote a story about our dog that she was quite proud of. Fictional, but good. (Meaning she wrote how much she loves her dog. Nice but completely untrue!)
Grandma helping Layla put together her page. She loves doing things with Grandma!
Seryn did some coloring but I don't know what happened to that picture. It must not have gotten uploaded. But here is her other contribution. We'll call it organization! Hope everyone is doing well and staying dry!!! I'm just glad I'm feeling better. And what did I tell you? I do have the best family in the world! And the cutest too!

"Silly things," said by Layla

This morning, I was stripping the beds to wash the sheets. I did Layla's bed first because she has the bottom bunk. After I was done, I started on Lylli's when Layla says, "Mom, can you please leave so we can jump on the bed?" Of course, I wanted to laugh, but had to explain why we don't jump on the bed. She then proceeded to tell me, "But it's just pretend. See? Watch?" Then she jumped across the bed. "That's not a real jump, Mom."
Now, I don't know what the fun is about jumping on the bottom bunk, I would think you would bonk your head, but evidently they've figured out a way around that. And I have also discovered it is more fun to jump on the bed when the sheets are off. Why is that? Anyway, I hope you found as much amusement from the situation as I did.
