News

For those of you interested in a good read, my aunt suggested Maria V. Snyder on her web page. Snyder wrote Poison Study, Magic Study, and Fire Study. I'm through the first two and have really enjoyed them. They are probably catagorized as Science Fiction, but I don't like science fiction and I like these. However, there is a little bit of a romance in them that's fun. If you're interested, here's the web page.

Also, for those of you who are wondering what Shane has been doing, now that he's done with school, he's the new Youth Empowerment Council Coordinator. I'm currently working on setting them up a blog page and it's in the works. But if you want to check it out, here's the link.

I hope everyone is having a great week. We just got another dog. Let me rephrase that. Shane got us another dog. He's pretty well behaved, when he isn't running free through the neighborhood. I don't really have any good pictures yet, so I'll add them when I get them. For now, I'm resigned to chasing dogs down the alley after frightened little girls on bikes.

Seryn's Walking

For those of you who don't know, Seryn is walking now. She turned 11 months yesterday. It's pretty crazy for me. Lylli and Layla weren't walking until they were 13 or 14 months. But Seryn has been crawling since she was six months. I think it will be nice that she can walk this summer. She doesn't like to sit or crawl on the grass or pavement. So it will be nice for her to be able to walk.

The weather has been so crazy here that we have been taking every opportunity to enjoy the warm weather when it is here. Just last Saturday, Shane was out of town, so the girls and I went to Mike Cedar Park for an hour. It was 70ish! So nice. Today it's like 45. Anyway, the girls had a great time and there were lots of other kids enjoying the warm weather too.

The highlights

Evidently, I haven't downloaded pictures for a while because this morning I downloaded 49!! Crazy! So here are a few highlights. I'm sure more will follow.

This is Lylli and her friend Mikayla this morning after the Young Author's assembly. Lylli won Honorable Mention for Fiction in Kindergarten with her story called Maria the Horse! and Mikayla won Overall Winner for Fiction in Kindergarten. Mikayla and Lylli are both in the same class, although Mikayla reminds me more of Layla in personality. Perhaps that's why she and Lylli are friends. Lylli was excited to win but she never shows her excitement much, though she will talk about it for days or weeks. Shane's trip to South Dakota was postponed, so he and my mom and I were all able to go to the assembly. When they called Lylli's name, (her name was called first) everyone looked around for her because she didn't know what to do. Then she raised her hand before her principal told her to come receive her award!
I took this picture yesterday morning after I got home from exercising. It was so pretty around here with all the trees. Doesn't this just look like a great book cover! I actually have a story I'm working on, based at Fort Casper in the winter time that I'm considering this for.
This is the girls in their matching outfits they got for Easter. Aren't they so cute?!! I just want to smother them with love when they look this good and are actually cooperating! I love my girls!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!

Soccer Boppers!

I thought you might like to know a favorite past time at our house. We love Soccer Boppers! They are inflatable balls that your hands fit in and the girls love o play with their dad! We have two sets, which doesn't seem to be enough because we all like to have them! Shane has taught the girls how to swing in different manners and one time Lylli knocked the wind out of Shane with an unexpected hit. Layla doesn't do too bad either. And at Lylli's Valentine Party, the boys there, and even some of the girls, had a great time with them. I'd thought about getting some for my brother but was advised that it may not be the best gift to give a missionary!
Layla playing with her dad!
Even Seryn likes to get in on the fun!
Lylli can get Shane with either hand!
